Au Lit Fine Linens x Province of Canada
Two Canadian brands in bed together.
In a way, our collaboration with Province of Canada started all the way back in 1981, when our founder Peggy Byron opened Boutique Au Lit in Montreal. That original boutique was the inspiration behind this collection, which has been years in the making. Introducing Au Lit Fine Linens x Province of Canada, two Canadian brands in bed together.
SHOP THE COLLECTIONThe Story
Au Lit Fine Linens' CEO Joanna Goodman and Province of Canada's CEO Julie Brown actually met back in 2006. Julie had just moved to Toronto from Montreal and was looking to put her creativity and love for design to work with a brand that really spoke to her. Julie found what she was looking for in Au Lit Fine Linens - a Canadian brand through-and-through, committed to all-natural fibres, quality design, and Canadian production. Julie joined the Au Lit Fine Linens team in 2006, and she and Joanna saw the brand through prolific growth in the 8 years to follow.
Influenced by Joanna and Peggy’s passion for natural fabrics and Canadian manufacturing, Julie said so long (but not goodbye!) to Au Lit to start her own made-in-Canada lifestyle brand with her husband Jeremy. In 2014, Province of Canada was born; a love letter to Canada and an homage to a time when everyday items were made locally and the citizens valued quality above all else.
Fast forward 9 more years, and we’ve come to this full-circle moment, two Canadian brands in bed together.
The PJ's
All-natural, made-in-Canada PJ's were the obvious focus of this long-anticipated collaboration. We set out to create the perfect plaid pyjama, drawing inspiration from a tartan flannel bedding collection that was one of Au Lit's early bestsellers.
We sourced an incredible 100% cotton flannel from Japan - at once cozy and lightweight - and in true Province of Canada fashion, put a few modern spins on a timeless design. The embroidered label is stitched proudly on the outside of the top, representing Au Lit's very first logo merged with that of Province of Canada. Cheeky 100% cotton tees and red plaid deco cushions round out the collection.
